10 Welcome to Burlington
Welcome to the City of Burlington, we are glad
you have chosen to stay with us. While you are
here, we hope you can take some time to enjoy
what our area has to offer. So many different
journeys can begin in the “Hub City” of Burlington.
Within a few hours’ drive of Burlington are
2 major international cities of Seattle, WA and
Vancouver B.C. To our east is the Cascade Loop
Scenic Highway; taking you to Leavenworth,
Lake Chelan and Winthrop. To the west are the
picturesque San Juan Islands with whale watching
tours as a highlight.
Burlington offers may diverse recreational
opportunities. The Skagit River runs along our
southern border, and is home to all five native
species of salmon and two species of trout. In the
winters, the Skagit is home to one of the largest
Steve Sexton bald eagle populations in the United States. If you

12/31/2023 Burlington also is home to one of the largest
soccer complexes in America, hosting soccer
tournaments, frisbee tournaments, and a new Quidditch Festival. In June our
Berry Dairy Days Parade and Festival attracts visitors from all over the region,
and in September our Harvest Festival features a Pumpkin Pitch competition.
Seeing trebuchets hurl pumpkins hundreds of feet through the air is a sight
enjoyed by thousands.
Shopping at our malls, dining out at one of our various restaurants, or visiting
our Children’s Museum are also great choices for you while you are here.
