I’m thrilled to welcome you to Mount Vernon! And I would like to thank
the Chamber of Commerce for its contributions to our quality of life here.
Our city truly offers the best of so many opportunities. Come and explore
the trails at Little Mountain Park, by bike or on foot; take a stroll through
Historic Downtown on the Riverwalk along the majestic Skagit River; and
discover some of the most unique and authentic restaurants and breweries
in the region.
We are fortunate to be positioned between two major urban centers—
Seattle and Vancouver, BC—yet still have access to so much of what makes
small city living so attractive. A strong business community, a city-owned
fiber optic network, and a sense of pride that is shared by the members of this
welcoming area. The recently completed Mount Vernon Library Commons
project has become a community gem. It boasts the largest children’s
library north of Seattle, a community center, commercial kitchen space, and
nearly 300 parking spaces to support our flourishing Downtown area. Here
you’ll find the largest stock of publicly accessible EV charging stations in
the country. This innovative facility is attracting further investment in our
area, and it supports our business and learning community in a new and
exciting way.
The City of Mount Vernon government closely partners and supports the
Chamber of Commerce in its vision of fostering economic prosperity and
quality of life in our city. Excellence in our City services paves the way
toward these goals, and we are committed to professionalism and efficiency
in our service to our residents and businesses.
