Burlington Washington is known to locals as the “Hub
City” for a reason! Our city is a prime location for a weekend
getaway or a “stay-cation” with shopping, dining, or just
enjoying the natural beauty we are surrounded by. It is THE
place to stay because all these adventures are within an
hour of Burlington’s 8 hotels and motels. The city itself is
four square miles and its commercial and manufacturing
districts are larger than its residential district.
I do not think anyone will disagree that the last few
years have been a time of change and adaptability.
Steph Vervaart Our community has learned the new way of the world
together, as it has evolved right before our eyes. The
President & CEO times of in-person gatherings and greeting each other
with handshakes and hugs came to an end on March 18, 2020. Unemployment
climbed to 19.6% in April that year and has slowly decreased to 5.2% by the end
of summer in 2021. Though our unemployment is still on a downward trend, now
restaurants and retail face new challenges because of supply chain difficulties.
But what is happening now is what we as a community are proud of. We continue
supporting eachother and pushing forward, never losing sight of our goal to
get Burlington back on track and keep our economy growing. Burlington is an
amazing city that has been through floods, pandemics, and other disasters.
Together, we were able to overcome these hardships and continue to be a vibrant
thriving community. While we still face continued economic hardship, we look to
     the future with hope.
The Burlington Chamber of Commerce has worked hard to be a resource
for our community. We continue to keep our members connected and informed
through many channels, including our website www.burlinton-chamber.com.
Burlington is resilient and has shown that in many ways these past two years.
It’s time to celebrate our community, and there is no better way than supporting
local! We invite you to join us at the 85th annual Berry Dairy Days festival this
June. We hope to see you at Skagit River Park June 17th for Music and fireworks
and on Fairhaven Ave, June 18-19th for Parade, Vendors, Kids Zone, Car show,
Live Music, BBQ Battle and more. And don’t forget to grab yourself a traditional
     Strawberry Shortcake while you’re there!
