10 Welcome to Burlington
Welcome to the City of Burlington,
we are glad you have chosen to stay with
us. While you are here, we hope you can
take some time to enjoy what our area
has to offer. So many different journeys
can begin in the “Hub City” of Burlington.
Within a few hours’ drive of Burlington
are 2 major international cities of Seattle,
WA and Vancouver B.C. To our east is the
Cascade Loop Scenic Highway; taking
you to Leavenworth, Lake Chelan and
Winthrop. To the west are the picturesque
San Juan Islands with whale watching
tours as a highlight.
Burlington offers may diverse
recreational opportunities. The Skagit
River runs along our southern border,
Steve Sexton and is home to all five native species
Mayor of salmon and two species of trout. In

the winters, the Skagit is home to one
of the largest bald eagle populations in the United States. If you are
looking to bike or hike, we have trails for both in our area that offer world
class views.
Burlington also is home to one of the largest soccer complexes in
America, hosting soccer tournaments, frisbee tournaments, and a new
Quidditch Festival. In June our Berry Dairy Days Parade and Festival
attracts visitors from all over the region, and in September our Harvest
Festival features a Pumpkin Pitch competition. Seeing trebuchets hurl
pumpkins hundreds of feet through the air is a sight enjoyed by thousands.
Shopping at our malls, dining out at one of our various restaurants,
or visiting our Children’s Museum are also great choices for you while
you are here.
I hope you can enjoy some of the things Burlington offers and you
enjoy your time with us. We look forward to seeing you again soon…
