12 Superintendent Message

The Burlington-Edison School District is located in
the vibrant Skagit Valley within Skagit County. Smaller
communities of Edison, Allen, Bow, Blanchard, Bay
View, and Alger combine with Burlington to form a
district of 150 square miles serving more than 3,500
students in grades P-12.
Seven schools serve students in the district.
Five elementary schools: Edison, Allen, West View,
Lucille Umbarger, and Bay View provide educational
opportunities for grades P-8. Burlington-Edison High
School is the educational center for grades 9-12,
with an alternative high school serving approximately
75 students. Thriving business establishments
contribute to our stable enrollment.

Burlington - Edison is the involvement of the community in all aspects
School Superintendent of the school district. We are focused on preparing
our students to have the habits of mind to be able to
transfer knowledge and skills in a variety of settings so students can contribute
to their community and world. It is important that parents and community
members join us by volunteering in classrooms, hosting outside classroom field
experiences, or serving on education committees. Our community and school
district are partners working together to prepare each child for his or her future.
