12 Superintendent Message

The Burlington-Edison School District is located
in the vibrant Skagit Valley within Skagit County.
Smaller communities of Edison, Allen, Bow,
Blanchard, Bay View, and Alger combine with
Burlington to form a district of 150 square miles
serving more than 3,700 students in grades K-12.
Seven schools serve students in the district.
Five elementary schools: Allen, Bay View,
Edison, Lucille Umbarger, and West View provide
educational opportunities for grades P-8.
Burlington-Edison High School is the educational
center for students 9-12, with an alternative high
school serving approximately 75 students. Thriving
business establishments contribute to our stable
enrollment.
Laurel Browning Essential to the effectiveness of our school
Burlington - Edison district is the involvement of the community in
School Superintendent all aspects of the school district. Parent and
community volunteers provide additional classroom
support and serve on a variety of committees to
participate in the decision-making process.
Our community and school district are partners working together to prepare
each child for his or her future. Welcome to an exceptional community and an
outstanding school district!
